'Essays and Tales' - Book part of Discovery 1901-1904 library

Book, 'Essays and Tales', containing three books 'Essays and Tales' by Joseph Addison, 'Essays Civil and Moral' by Francis Bacon and 'Essays' by Abraham Cowley. Published by Cassel and Company 1898. Inscribed by Hartley Ferrar but also contains second inscription 'Evelyn Forbes, Myalhurst 1947' (Ferrar's daughter). Book consists of a dark blue cloth board cover and spine.

This is part of a collection of books taken from the Discovery library belonging to Hartley Ferrar who was the geologist on the 1901-1904 Expedition. After the expedition this library was distributed between the men, all these books are inscribed 'H.T. Ferrar, Ex Libris Discovery'.
