Cube carved with scenes from Dundee

Cube, wooden cube with three side faces with scenes from Dundee streets with workers and mills. One side face with Antarctic scene of Discovery and penguins. All scenes in relief carved from the wood of the cube. Signed on the base "Allan Beveridge 09". Created as part of the “Juteopolis SSA Collaborative Sculpture Annual Exhibition 2009". Here members of the Society of Scottish Artists embellished 10cm x 10cm wooden cubes, taking jute as their subject matter. These cubes were then laid out on the floor in the shape of a lade to create a large collaborative floor sculpture, exhibited at the Vision Building, Dundee. In 2010 these cubes were also exhibited in the machine hall at Verdant Works.
