Cube stained brass fittings to look like "Jute Box"

Cube stained and polished dark with brass fittings to look like Indian Jute Box. Brass bound hole on top surface with jute twine emerging. Signed on base "W.J.Maclean/Jute Box". Created as part of the “Juteopolis SSA Collaborative Sculpture Annual Exhibition 2009". Here members of the Society of Scottish Artists embellished 10cm x 10cm wooden cubes, taking jute as their subject matter. These cubes were then laid out on the floor in the shape of a lade to create a large collaborative floor sculpture, exhibited at the Vision Building, Dundee. In 2010 these cubes were also exhibited in the machine hall at Verdant Works.
