"Dennis the Menace" jute jumper cube

Cube, wooden cube painted white on five faces. Top face orange with drawing of Dennis the Menace wearing a jumper made from jute fabric. Other faces with speech bubbles "But/It's/Itchy!/aaargh!". Signed on base "D. Nicholls". Created as part of the “Juteopolis SSA Collaborative Sculpture Annual Exhibition 2009". Here members of the Society of Scottish Artists embellished 10cm x 10cm wooden cubes, taking jute as their subject matter. These cubes were then laid out on the floor in the shape of a lade to create a large collaborative floor sculpture, exhibited at the Vision Building, Dundee. In 2010 these cubes were also exhibited in the machine hall at Verdant Works.
