Fire Chittagong Heat Arctic Seas titled cube

Cube, wooden cube four sides with narrow strips of jute attached to surface and with lettering reading "Fire Chittagong Heat Arctic Seas" and "Jute Hessian Rope Whales Shipwreck Spices". Top face has attached a piece of slate on which are small pieces of bone and other materials. Created as part of the “Juteopolis SSA Collaborative Sculpture Annual Exhibition 2009". Here members of the Society of Scottish Artists embellished 10cm x 10cm wooden cubes, taking jute as their subject matter. These cubes were then laid out on the floor in the shape of a lade to create a large collaborative floor sculpture, exhibited at the Vision Building, Dundee. In 2010 these cubes were also exhibited in the machine hall at Verdant Works.
