Harpoon tip for marking whales

Harpoon tip, used for marking whales used during the Discovery Investigation period. Made from metal, possibly steel, engraved 'Reward paid for return to Discovery Committee, Colonial Office London, 3680'. Circular base with projecting harpoon point. Brown woven ribbon attached. Items relate to donor's uncle George McKendrick a World War II pilot who died in 1941.
