Letter, sent by Sir Clements Markham (President of the Royal Geographical Society) to William Colbeck, 21, Eccleston Square, SW., dated 11/10/1902 and written on Markham crested paper. Letter relates to an attached newspaper cutting concerning the Morning arriving at Madeira and Colbeck's qualities as captain of the Morning. Belonging to a collection of papers associated with William Colbeck, Captain of the "Morning", which made two trips to Antarctica as a relief vessel for the "Discovery" during the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
