Photograph of Betty Robertson\'s mock \"Wedding\"

Photograph, black and white, of Betty Robertsons mock wedding in 1954. The mill girls would often hold mock weddings, as part of their pre-wedding fun and games. They would often dress up as the wedding party including the groom, parading through the mills and streets. Long lasting close friendships were formed in the mills despite the long hours and poor conditions. Bride Betty Robertson can be seen, second from left and Muriel Whitecross second from right. Lady on the far right is Mary MacKenzie (nee Jack).
