Printed instructions for voyage to Colbeck from Markham
Letter, sent from Sir Clements Markham to William Colbeck, titled ''Instructions to the Commander'' (of the Antarctic Relief Expedition). Printed, with handwritten passages by Markham, possibly extracts from minutes of the Royal Geographical Society. No date, but pre-winter 1902. Sir Clements Markham was President of the Royal Geographical Society. Belonging to a collection of papers associated with William Colbeck, Captain of the "Morning", which made two trips to Antarctica as a relief vessel for the "Discovery" during the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
