Inscription reads 'I nominate the Dundee shipwrights to build our next space vessel. They understand the importance of a proper wardroom. Alvin Drew M51, STS Discovery'.

Drew visited RRS Discovery with other members of last Space Shuttle Discovery crew and dined in the wardroom. He participated in two space missions. Mission STS-118 on board Endeavour (8-21 August 2007), and mission STS-133 on board Discovery. He was also Mission Specialist on STS 128 on board Discovery and STS-133 mission to ISS on board Discovery (26 February to 7 March 2011), this was to be SS Discovery's 39th and final mission. Part of 6 signed colour prints of NASA astronauts who visited Discovery Point and dined in the ward room.
