\'Verdant Jute\' vessel by Jennifer Rochester

Vessel, made of natural jute and green Harris Tweed titled 'Jute Infusion' by local textile artist Jennifer Rochester. Jennifer states 'A hand stitched piece of green Harris Tweed represents the verdant meadow to create a vessel which is enhanced by hand stitching with natural jute fibre making a looped texture on the body with loose fibres emerging from the neck, thus infusing it.' This piece was exhibited at Verdant Works as part of 'Edge@ Verdant Works' temporary exhibition by Edge Textile Artists Scotland 21st January- 23rd April 2017. They record the transformation from the original verdant meadow site to the introduction of the raw jute to the manufacture of jute thread.
