Medal, silver medal displayed on a blue and white stripped ribbon, presented to Thomas Whitfield, one of the stokers onboard the Discovery as part of the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904, for long service and good conduct onboard the HMS Victory during World War I. One side of this medal shows Kind Edward VII’s profile looking left with the words ‘Edwardus VII Imperator’. On the reverse is an image of a ship (presumably HMS Victory) with the words ‘Thomas Whitfield, CH, STO., HMS Victory’ inscribed around the edge.
