Painting, colour and mounted on card with with an embossed pattern around the edge, entitled 'first communication with natives of Boothin Felix 1829' relating to the Ross Expedition of 1829-1833. Title handwritten on the back along with a further inscription which reads 'Taken from a drawing by Captain Ross during his last voyage of discovery to the Arctic Regions in the year 1829'. Published in Sir John Ross's book. 'Narrative of a Second Voyage in Search of North-West Passage, and of a Residence in the Arctic Regions During the Years 1829, 1830, 1831, 1832, 1833.' London: A.W. Webster, 1835. This was displayed in Charles Royds cabin onboard the Discovery under the maritime trust in 1979.
