Article entitled, 'U.S. Navy A.........- heaviest ice pack in Antarctic history', relating to the Byrd Expedition attempts to overcome the latest icepack. Part of a scrapbook belonging to William R. Colbeck, 2nd Officer on the "Discovery" during BANZARE 1929-1931 and son of William Colbeck, captain of the "Morning", the relief ship for the Discovery during the National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
