City and Guilds Bronze Medal for Jute Spinning

Medal, bronze, in case awarded to John Brown given for 'Jute Spinning', 3rd prize dated 1920. Front of medal emblazoned with emblems of Guilds of City of London, reverse side with 'City and Guilds of London Institute, Department of Technology' around outer edge. Centre with decorative cartouche with 'Technological Examination' and 'Grade 1' above. Stored in square case with dark maroon leatherette cover, inside dark blue velvet recessed seat for medal inner lid with cream silk lining with diamond shaped logo 'John Pinches, London'. John Brown (donor's father) was chief engineer in the Transport Department.
