Slide, lantern slide depicting a black and white image of the Endurance in the pack ice immediately prior to her hull being crushed by the pack ice. The original annotation on the slide reads 'within a few seconds she kealed over'. Original image by Frank Hurley (official photographer on the expedition) and dated 18th October, 1915. Part of a set of sixty seven black and white lantern slides held in a wooden box depicting scenes mostly from the Terra Nova Expedition 1910-1912, with a few concerning the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition 1914-1915.
