Envelope containing letters to Colbeck
Envelope, addressed to Sub-Lieut W.Colbeck R.N.R., 225 Anlaby Road, Hull, postmarked Hull 2/4/1901, with the crest of Sir Clements Markham (President of the Royal Geographical Society) on the rear of the envelope. Contained a letter written by Markham thanking Colbeck for his previous letter of congratulatuions over the launch of Discovery. Belonging to a collection of papers associated with William Colbeck, Captain of the "Morning", which made two trips to Antarctica as a relief vessel for the "Discovery" during the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
