This particular object is the envelope from a letter sent to Thomas Hodgson (marine biologist onboard the Discovery) from Jean-Baptist Charcot thinking him for the good wishes and whiskey. Sent from onboard the Pourquois pas? ( translated as the Why not? This was the ship used in the French Antarctic Expedition 1904- 1907). Dated August 08.
