George Mepham's Alloment Note
Seaman's Alloment Note: dated 8 Sept 1931 for "R.R.S. Discovery II/ Port Stanley/161322" The document authenses "The Crown Agents for the Colonies..." to pay ten pounds monthly to the seaman's father (also called George Mepham). Stamped in bottom right hand corner "M.M. Office/Dook Street. E./8 Sept 1931". George Mepham worked on the Discovery II as a wardroom cook.
