Hank Dyeing
Slide, colour, part of a collection of photographs relating to Sidlaw Industries. This particular image depicts hank dyeing, historically used in traditional carpet manufacture. This image possibly relates to Tay Carpet Works, where prior to 1970 a dye house was located. It may have also been taken in one of the Dundee based commission dye houses such as Francis Stevenson (later to be amalgamated into Halley Stevenson) or William Watson Ltd at Forebank dye works.
