Sculptors Maquette (plaster study) for the statue of Dundee engineer James Carmichael (1776-1853). Designed by John Hutchinson and installed in 1876, the final sculpture still stands today in Dundees Albert Square and commemorates the imagination, engineering skill and generosity of this influential pioneer.
