Lightning Rod from Discovery
Lightning Rod-taken from Discovery and mounted on to a metal plate and turned into a blotter Rod (part of ) cut off in 1956 when the flag of the Admiral Reserves was hoisted in the ship for the first time. (Vice Admiral Sir John Cuthbert/F.P. Reserves 5456). Inscription on the blotter reads "J.W.C./H.M.S. Discovery/1955-56".
