Singer sewing machine. Portable with wooden carrying case with handles and carved decorative front panel. Compartment in wooden base, under metal machine body, contains 9 metal accessories. Metal base of machine stamped 15720747. Used by James Dell, crew member aboard Discovery during the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-04, to mend clothes, underwear, etc.
