Shackleton's Chair
Chair, wooden loop backed chair with perforated seat. Chair alleged to have belonged to Ernest Shackleton, came from his home in Chislehurst, Kent. Donated by the god-daughter of Shackleton's garderner. The arm rests are formed of shaped wood with additional shaped wooden sections screwed to the upper part of the rest. A separate strengthening hoop is fitted to the rear of the legs.
