Etching of The Moulin Road, Kirkmichael
Etching, framed and glazed, entitled "The Moulin Road, Kirkmichael", by Charles G.L. Phillips. This ancient Scottish waypoint stands at the north east end of Pitlochry and encompasses both the routes from Strathtay to Strathardle and from Dunkeld to Donavourd. Part of a collection of paintings, etchings and personal effects relating to Charles Gustav Phillips, a prolific Dundee artist. Phillips worked in a variety of media: oils, watercolour and etchings and was particularly known for his landscapes and townscapes of Dundee and the surrounding areas. His work was regularly exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy. He died in 1944 at the age of 80 and his work was bequeathed to Dundee Heritage Trust in 2002 by his son William S Phillips.
