Jute Skirt with tulip design by Mary Quant
Skirt, knee length skirt of woven jute, decorated with an applied stylised tulip in black felt on the front. Very slightly A-line with darts at the waist and four belt loops. Fastens with zip at the left hand side and front hemline scalloped. Produced by fashion designer Mary Quant as part of her lower priced ready to wear range called the ‘Ginger Culture Collection’, dated 1963. Quant enjoyed experimenting with different materials and textures.
