Stamps on base include: '3HP', W & H in flag motif, letter stamp 'I' '53312', "Walker and Hall, Sheffield", circular stamp "Patent Handle", "Warranted Hard & Silver Soldered", '5', '5'. Part of a collection of objects associated with BANZARE (The British and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition) and K.N. McKenzie who sailed on "Discovery" as 1st Officer in the BANZARE expedition of 1929-30 and was Captain on the 2nd BANZARE expedition of 1930-31.
