Photograph, black and white, of Alfred Howard (Chemist onboard BANZARE) working Nansen Petterson bottle (an instrument used for taking samples of seawater ). Labeled on the back of the photograph, 'Kodak No. N 843'. Belonging to a collection of photographs associated with William R. Colbeck, 2nd Officer on the "Discovery" during the Banzare Expedition 1929-1931 and son of William Colbeck, captain of the "Morning", the relief ship for the Discovery during the National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
