Letter, typed, to William R Colbeck from the Admirality (particular person unknown signature undecipherable) notifying him he had been awarded a bronze Polar Medal and clasp and inviting him to the presentation ceremony held at Buckingham Palace on 27th June 1934 at 10.39 am. Written on offical Admirality crested paper and dated 29/5/1934. Belonging to a collection of papers associated with William R. Colbeck, 2nd Officer on the "Discovery" during the Banzare Expedition 1929-1931 and son of William Colbeck, captain of the "Morning", the relief ship for the Discovery during the National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
