Memorial plaque Cape Dennison 1930.

Photograph, black and white, of a memorial plaque at Cape Dennison, dated circa 1930. This was to commemorate the deaths of Lieutenant Belgrave Edward Sutton Ninnis and Dr Xavier Martz (geologist) both of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition who died on a sledging expedition to survey King George V land. The photograph is labeled on the rear 'Kodak No. E 761'. Belonging to a collection of photographs associated with William R. Colbeck, 2nd Officer on the "Discovery" during the Banzare Expedition 1929-1931 and son of William Colbeck, captain of the "Morning", the relief ship for the Discovery during the National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
