Photograph, black and white, taken of Port Jeanne d'Arc, Kerguelen, labeled 'a Norwegian whaling station abandoned 1914. The S. Africans landed 150 tons of coal here for us to pick up'. The photograph is labeled 'Kodak No. J 420' on the back. Belonging to a collection of photographs associated with William R. Colbeck, 2nd Officer on the "Discovery" during the Banzare Expedition 1929-1931 and son of William Colbeck, captain of the "Morning", the relief ship for the Discovery during the National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
