Seam smoother made of Laburnum wood

Seam smoother, used by a sail maker, made of Laburnum wood. It has a plain shaft which is wider at one end with a groove. Canvas is prone to springing back so hard folds need to be created. The sail maker would fold the canvas to the size required and then run the seam smoother along this fold, applying pressure evenly.
