Photograph, black and white, labeled 'Towing clear of the ship'. You can see the patches in the wings where pieces of ice falling from aloft perforated the fabric and had to be repaired. Labeled on the back, 'Kodak No. J 421'. Belonging to a collection of photographs associated with William R. Colbeck, 2nd Officer on the "Discovery" during the Banzare Expedition 1929-1931 and son of William Colbeck, captain of the "Morning", the relief ship for the Discovery during the National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
