Newspaper cutting, taken from the "Chronicle" publication, dated 24/1/1930. Article entitled, 'Byrd - may be locked in the ice for a year - "food supplies almost exhausted" - appeal for help - several men who could not survive another winter'. Part of a scrapbook belonging to William R. Colbeck, 2nd Officer on the "Discovery" during BANZARE 1929-1931 and son of William Colbeck, captain of the "Morning", the relief ship for the Discovery during the National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
