Newspaper cutting, taken from the "Standard" and dated 24/1/1930. Article entitled, 'British vessels unsuited for polar rescue - Byrd expedition may have to live on penguin'. Part of a scrapbook belonging to William R. Colbeck, 2nd Officer on the "Discovery" during BANZARE 1929-1931 and son of William Colbeck, captain of the "Morning", the relief ship for the Discovery during the National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
