Commemorative Chocolate Card- Feeding the Dogs

Card, souvenir card bearing a coloured illustration of Cecil Meares (in charge of the dogs on the expedition) with eight dogs labelled, ‘Mr Mears in charge of the Dogs Feeding Time’, underneath which is the caption ‘Fry’s Coca and Chocolate Makers to H.M. the King’. The reverse of the card features details of the dogs from Siberia and their feeding rations, ‘Captain Scott and the South Pole’ (the name of the series of cards) and the caption ‘Fry’s Pure Coca 300 Grands Prix Gold Medals’ all within a decorative boarder of coiled rope. Part of a complete set of 25 cards commemorating the Terra Nova Expedition 1910-12 issued by Fry’s chocolate (one of the expedition’s sponsors) in 1913.
