Exhibition catalogue, 42 pages, green-hued card cover, with red, printed text on front and reverse, entitled ‘The British Antarctic Expedition 1910-1913: Exhibition of the photographic pictures of Herbert Ponting’. The exhibition was held at W.H.Smith and Sons in Cheltenham between 1913 and 1914. The catalogue includes eight black and white reproductions of the images in the exhibition:

1. Captain Robert Falcon Scott in the Antarctic.

2. The Terra Nova captioned ‘Imprisoned in the icepack’.

3. The hut at Cape Evans captioned ‘The hut in early spring’.

4. Antarctic landscape captioned ‘The end of the Barne Glacier’.

5. Herbert G. Ponting with his camera

6. One of the Siberian expedition dogs, captioned ‘Volk’.

7. Penguins on the ice, captioned ‘Summertime, the opening up of the ice’.

8. Two Adelie penguins captioned ‘Mated’.

Ponting was greatly affected by the loss of the polar party and dedicated the rest of his life and career to ensuring their heroism would never be forgotten. He effectively gave up photography, concentrating his efforts on touring the country, lecturing about the expedition using his photographs and his film ‘90 South.
