Letter, from William Colbeck to his parents, headed 'S.Y. Southern Cross, Cape Adare, and dated Sunday 19/2/1899. The letter gives details of his time onboard the expedition from leaving Adventure Bay, Tasmania to arriving at the base in South Victoria Land, attached is also list of personnel from the expedition. Belonging to a collection of papers associated with William Colbeck, Captain of the "Morning", which made two trips to Antarctica as a relief vessel for the "Discovery" during the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
