Newspaper cuttings, x 3, dated Feb 1930 relating to the Wilkins Expedition 1928-1929. Article 1, taken from a unknown publiction is dated 24/02/1930 and entitled ‘Wilkins Expedition – Arrival at Montevideo’. The next piece is taken from ‘The Times’ and dated 25/02/1930 entitled ‘In the heart of Antarctica’ it features Wilkins’s own account of the three weeks he was absent from the Deception Island. The final piece is also taken from ‘The Times’ and dated 26/02.1930 entitled ‘The Wilkins Expedition- Last report on work in Antarctic’ which finishes the previous day’s account. Part of a scrapbook belonging to William R. Colbeck, 2nd Officer on the "Discovery" during BANZARE 1929-1931 and son of William Colbeck, captain of the "Morning", the relief ship for the Discovery during the National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
