Slide, lantern slide depicting a black and white drawing of men dragging a boat (probably the James Cairn) onto land, relating to the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition 1914-1915. The original annotation reads 'The first attempt to reach the land, three hundred and forty six miles away.' The artist may have been George E. Marston (the official artist on two of Shackleton’s Antarctic Expeditions). Part of a collection of fifty eight slides depicting scenes from various Antarctic expeditions.
