Cutting re. SA. Andree's arctic balloon expedition 1987

Newspaper cutting, taken from the "Observer", dated 17/8/1930. An article entitled, 'Dr. Andree's end - No trace of explorer's balloon', relating to the story that the captain of the sealer 'Braatvang' had found the bodies of Dr.Andree and his comrades, 33 years after they were lost. A handwritten note at the bottom of the article states, 'After 33 years!! Andres sailed 1897'. Part of a scrapbook belonging to William R. Colbeck, 2nd Officer on the "Discovery" during BANZARE 1929-1931 and son of William Colbeck, captain of the "Morning", the relief ship for the Discovery during the National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
