Photograph, black and white showing Discovery under sail at a tilt taken from the end of the jib-boom by Frank Hurley (official photographer) during the BANZAR Expedition 1929-1931. Framed in wood from the Discovery and featuring a carved expedition crest at the top of the frame. Label handwritten on the back states 'Photograph from end of the jib boom on Sir D. Mawson Antarctic Voyage of 1930-31. Presented by Captain Mackenzie framed in wood of the ship'. Presented to RRS Discovery by the Scott Polar Institution on the occasion of a visit on 28th March 1987'.
