Newspaper cutting, taken from an unknown publication, circa 1920. Article entitled "When I was young", by Captain Edward R.G.R. Evans, (Officer onboard both the Morning and Terra Nova Expeditions) describing his childhood. Includes various images of Evans whilst growing up the last image features Evans with other officers from the Relief Ship Morning at Lyttelton, New Zealand. In front (from left to right): Officer Gerald Doorly, Lt. Edward Evans, Frederick Morrison (Chief Engineer), Rupert England, Capt. William Colbeck, Lt. George Mulock, George Davidson (Surgeon). Seated behind: Midshipmen Maitland Somerville and Arthur Pepper. Part of a scrapbook belonging to William R. Colbeck, 2nd Officer on the "Discovery" during BANZARE 1929-1931 and son of William Colbeck, captain of the "Morning", the relief ship for the Discovery during the National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904.
