The dark oak, glazed frame has an inner border of gold and "Royal Research Ship/Discovery" is printed below the image.There are twelve handwritten signatures of the crew in black ink including the ship's master J.R.Stenhouse, Alister Hardy and Stanley Kemp. The photograph is signed by the photographer "J. Russell & Sons".
