46” Loom with Ecco Shuttle Loader
Loom: Made by T.C. Keay and Co. Dundee. The upright section to the left of the loom is the Ecco Shuttle Loader. Capable of storing numerous cops, it automatically replenished the cops in the shuttle to supply the weft thread. This allowed the weaver to tend to more than one machine at a time. Thomas C. Keay & Company was founded in 1879 as a mill furnisher. By 1917 the company was focused on producing textile weaving and finishing machinery, based at North Machine Works.
