Cube wrapped as a parcel with coloured paper

Cube wrapped as a parcel with paper, coloured and stencilled and tied with jute twine. Label with "juteopolis" and "Cochours Capsularis/Olitaris" (the Latin name for jute). Created as part of the “Juteopolis SSA Collaborative Sculpture Annual Exhibition 2009". Here members of the Society of Scottish Artists embellished 10cm x 10cm wooden cubes, taking jute as their subject matter. These cubes were then laid out on the floor in the shape of a lade to create a large collaborative floor sculpture, exhibited at the Vision Building, Dundee. In 2010 these cubes were also exhibited in the machine hall at Verdant Works.
