Photograph, black and white, mounted and framed relating to the re-opening of the reconstructed Manhattan Works, dated June 1951. Photograph shows Lord Bilsland and party on a platform addressing an audience. Lord Bilsland performed the official opening ceremony, he was the chairman of the Scottish Council of Development and Industry. The platform party (left to right) were: G.H Pilcher, W.R. Hutton, W.H. Pilcher, Lord Bilsland, W.G.N. Walker, unknown, Strachan (or J.M Weir) and B.C. Walker. Frame varnished wood, wooden backboard bears label of framers 'Robertson and Bruce Limited, fine art dealers, Panmure Salon, 90 Commercial Street, Dundee'.
