Shott gauge (Counting Glass)
Shott Gauge, brass. Small folding, 3 part counter with magnifying lens in one arm and cross shaped section in the other. Middle section stamped 'D & R D'. This is used in quality control, usually used with finer materials such as linen goods, and measures the number of warp or weft threads in the particular inch cross section or for inspecting the weft and smoothness and roughness of the fabric.
