Tool used in the jute industry
Tool which was given to donors father when A&S Henry closed. He was given the tool as otherwise it would have been thrown away. The donors husbans then used the tool when he worked in Lawside Works, where he was first a shift manager then a manager.
Made by Smiths Industrial Instrument and designed with 3 speed ranges. The tool comes in a faux-leather box and insdie is dusty with jute fibres in the velvet padding.
All donors family worked in the mill. Donors husband studied at Dundee Technical Institute
